MIRA
The MIRA test track that we use is the “handling track” and has a special tarmac. It drains well but on a wet day expect standing water a couple of inches deep in places.
This is a deceptively simple looking track which repays several visits to learn it. The final corner is a constant radius 180 degree bend which can be driven much faster than you first think.
Note that MIRA is always on a Saturday and this is a working day for the research facility and they strictly enforce the rule of no cameras or video and will eject anyone caught using such devices. They hold you at the gate and then let you onto the course between 7.30 and 8 am and since scrutineering takes place from 8 am it can be quite tricky to park up, register, walk the course and get scrutineered before 9 am if you are on your own.
