Roger Stocks
Driver Class: 1E4WD
I’m a retired teacher of Design and Technology having served 43 years at the chalkface and I live in Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire.
I learned to drive sitting on my Dad’s knee in a Ford 100e Anglia in the 1950s. I did compete for a while in the 70s with Loughborough Car Club autotesting and rallying at all levels. I read a book titled ‘How to start Rallying’ but nobody wrote a book titled ‘How to stop Rallying’. However, the arrival of my son finished my motorsport career. Fast forward to 2022 and I decided it would be a good idea to buy myself a respectable car for my 70th birthday. Therefore, 2023 is my return to motorsport! I rather like the idea of driving a bog standard car in competition and the GR Yaris is proving to be good fun and I’m enjoying the challenge of learning how to sprint and climb hills. I appear on entry lists as James Stocks……..
